Coimbatore International Airport Terminal

It was built in 1940, primary serving as civil aerodrome and then reopened and modernized in 1987. In terms of numbers, it is the 15th busiest airport of India. 

It serves as a the business hub of South India which connects to major Indian cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kozhikode. 

Coimbatore International Airport hosts either domestic and international flights, connecting with Sharjah and Singapore. 

Hosts seasonally a Hajj charter to Jeddah for pilgrims, the first was in 2010. 

Also, in 2013, was the first airport in India to use solar power energy to run utility grid system.

In 2008 major works were done at Coimbatore International Airport in order to handle a higher number of passengers.
